Financial Policy
It is our practice, following the initial exam and consultation, to meet again
with each patient to discuss a short, as well as a long-term, dental plan. The
short-term plan is based upon the immediate dental needs of the patient, taking
into consideration both health and financial priorities. It is at this time that
we can assess the amount of coverage that can be expected by the patient's dental
plan and/or the need for other financing options.
Our office policy is to discuss fees with our patients and make specific written
financial arrangements before beginning treatment. In this way we hope to prevent
misunderstandings, as well as reduce the " financial anxiety" which frequently
accompanies any type of health care.
Payment will be expected at the time of services. We accept Mastercard, Visa,
American Express, Discover and Diner's Card as well as cash and personal check.
Financing & Insurance FAQ's
Is financing available for my dental work?
Yes! In fact we offer two different dental finance
plans: Unicorn Financial and Care Credit . Both are well established companies
that specialize in financing dental procedures. They
cover the costs of all procedures while customizing
monthly rates that works for your budget. Keep in
mind that like all outside financing plans and credit
cards, there will be interest added. We will be happy
to provide you with details and contact information
on all of these companies.
Is there an 'interest free' option?
Most plans offer an option to pay off any amount, interest free for the first 12 - 18 months.
Are all procedures covered by my insurance?
Almost all general dentistry procedures (cleanings, fillings, crowns, etc) are
covered to some degree by most dental plans. However, many of the cosmetic procedures
may not be specifically covered unless they are being used to treat or repair
an existing condition that is covered, i.e. a resin onlay to repair a cracked
amalgam filling.
How much will be covered by my insurance?
At this time, there is no regualtion as to how insurance companies determine reimbursement levels. Reimbursement is usually based upon established 'usual, customary and resonable' (UCR) fees for given procedures. These UCR limits vary, depending upon the individual insurance provider.
Do I have to personally file the claim with my
insurance company?
As a service to our patients, we will file your insurance forms electronically
before you leave each appointment. Your insurance company will usually reimburse
your portion of the payment to you within two weeks.
Is there a discount available for payment in full?
Yes. On work totaling over $2500 there is a 5% 'accounting reduction' for payment
at the time of services.
Can I pay with major credit cards?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover and Diner's Card.
